Daily Exercise

10/6/11

          It occurs to me that I have committed one of the cardinal sins of physical fitness.  At no time yesterday did I do any core focusing exercises.  Sure I could say that all the exercises I did yesterday reached my core in some way and helped tone and strengthen it.  This is true of most exercises because often when you workout you are effecting muscles that you aren't even aware you are effecting.  Muscles connect in so many ways that when you are focusing on moving one you do not always realize that you are also moving another.  My idea of a good workout, however, is one that you feel the next day.  I don't mean the old adage "no pain no gain," because if you have injured yourself that you are in so much pain, that will actually set you back in your workout routine.  Now you have to wait and heal before you can workout again, plus you will need to take it slow for a bit to make sure you don't hurt yourself again.  The feeling I am talking about is that feeling you get when you have had such a great workout that the next day it actually feels good to stretch out your sore muscles.  That all being said, here is my workout for today;

15 Pushups (one day I will get higher than this)
40 Calf Raises
3 sets of 20 Squats
4 sets of 20 Weighted Arm Curls
1 set of 20/ 2 sets of 30 Crunches
20 Leg Raises

            I have been pretty focused on my workout routine.  It is amazing how good I feel when I workout on a regular basis.  Here is a list of my workout routine for last night;

•   Bollywood Dance Workout for 40 min
•   15 Pushups
•   2 sets of 15 Squats
•   Weighted Arm Curls
•   6 min of Thera Band Wobble Board balancing exercises
•   40 Calf Raises, which I do on stairs to give me that extra stretch, but you have to be careful not to hurt yourself doing them this way.
